StarCraft: Brood War – Patch 1.20.26: "The Bureaucracy of War"
[Terran]- Vultures (SB 1271 / AB 544): Every Vulture bike must now be equipped with a red rear reflector and a solid red light at all times. Additionally, Jim Raynor has been cited for a helmet violation; he must now complete a 4-hour online safety course before he can use Speed Boost.
- Ghost (SB 627): The "No Secret Police Act" is now in effect. Ghosts are prohibited from using "Cloak" unless they are undercover or wearing a medical-grade N-95 mask. If a Ghost nukes a base while cloaked, they lose "Qualified Immunity" and can be sued for $10,000 in minerals by the victim’s SCVs.
- Burglary Tools (AB 486): Possession of a Lockdown device or Optical Flare with the intent to "steal" a win is now a misdemeanor.
- Overlords (SB 1053): Single-use plastic carrying pods are officially banned. Overlords must now transport Zerglings in recycled paper bags. Note: This reduces Zergling movement speed because the bags might rip if they wiggle too much. 10-cent mineral fee applies to every unit dropped.
- Mutalisks (AB 390): The "Slow Down, Move Over" law now applies to the air. If a Mutalisk flock sees a stationary Science Vessel with its hazard lights on (Repairing), the Mutas must move to an adjacent lane or slow down, or face a fine of 1,000 gas.
- Dark Templar (SB 627): Much like the Terran Ghost, DTs must now display their badge number visibly on their void blades. Cloaking is now considered "Identity Obscurement" and may result in the Protoss player being doxed by the Terran community.
- High Templar (SB 43): "Gravely Disabled" standards have been expanded. If a High Templar is out of energy and cannot provide for their own safety, they can be placed on an involuntary 72-hour hold in a Warp Prism for medical evaluation.
StarCraft II – Patch 5.2.0: "The AI & Autonomy Update"
[General / UI]- Adjutant Disclosure (SB 524): If a player uses an AI-generated build order or the "Auto-Select" feature, a disclaimer must appear in the chat saying: "This game was played either fully or in part using Artificial Intelligence." The player must then sign their name and verify the build didn't hallucinate a 4-gate.
- Chatbot Regulation (SB 243): The in-game Adjutant is now banned from providing "Emotional Support" or "Companion" features to lonely Bronze-league players. If the Adjutant detects "Ladder Anxiety," it is legally required to direct the player to a crisis center or a professional coach.
- Cyclone (AB 1777): Since Cyclones are essentially "Autonomous Vehicles," they can now be issued "Notices of Noncompliance" for traffic violations. If a Cyclone accidentally locks onto a civilian SCV, the manufacturer (The Factory) will be fined.
- Hellion/Hellbat (SB 586): Now classified as "Off-Highway Electric Motorcycles." Operators must wear helmets and display a DMV-issued ID plate on the rear exhaust. No exceptions for Firebats.
- Infested Terrans (AB 406): Infested units are now entitled to "Protected Paid Leave" if they or their family members (the Swarm) were victims of a crime (like a Siege Tank blast). They may take time off to attend judicial proceedings against the Terran Dominion.
- Banelings (SB 1053): As they are essentially "Single-Use Bio-Plastic," Banelings are now 100% illegal in grocery-store-themed maps.
- Mothership (AB 390): Because the Mothership is technically a "Stationary Vehicle" (it moves so slow it might as well be), all Viking and Corruptor pilots must maintain a 3-lane distance when passing it to ensure the safety of the Mothership's crew.
- Shield Battery (SB 1271): Lithium-ion batteries used in Shield Batteries must now be tested by an accredited laboratory for fire hazards. Any Battery that catches fire due to a "Void Ray Overcharge" will result in a recall of all Protoss structures.
[Bug Fixes]
- Fixed a bug where Abathur was providing "Step Therapy" for Mutations. Per AB 578, Zerg players can now skip directly to Adrenal Glands if the first mutation doesn't work.
- Fixed a bug where "Ghost Masking" was allowing them to evade doxing.
- Added a 3-day "Buyer's Remorse" window (SB 766) for anyone who accidentally warps in a Carrier instead of a Tempest. You may now return the Carrier for a full refund within 3 game-minutes.
